As the General Manager of Adina Watches, I am honoured to reflect on our enduring partnership with Hogans Family Jewellers in Toowoomba. A relationship that has flourished over decades and across generations. This collaboration exemplifies the essence of family-owned Australian businesses supporting one another to achieve mutual success.
Our journey with Hogans Family Jewellers began in 1973, just two years after Adina was founded in 1971. At that time, Mrs. Madeleine Hogan, who co-founded the business with her husband Jack in 1945, managed the buying decisions alongside her son Peter. Their commitment to quality and community values resonated deeply with our own principles at Adina.
In 1995, I had the privilege of starting my visits to Hogan’s, working with Mrs Hogan and Peter. She was quite tough to sell to, but I recall my dad’s advice. “Chat to her about politics and then she will let you open the bags!” His advice was spot on!
After Peter’s sad passing, his brother Paul, a skilled jeweller in the renowned Hogans’ workshop, took the helm. Paul’s dedication to craftsmanship and customer service mirrored our own, strengthening the bond between our families and our companies.
Today, Hogans Family Jewellers is led by Paul’s son, Lachlan (“Lachy”), a third-generation jeweller who continues the family tradition with innovation and passion. Under Lachy’s leadership, Hogans Family Jewellers has elevated its reputation, and Adina watches have remained a staple in their beautiful Margaret Street showroom.
Over the past 52 years, Adina watches have graced Hogan’s displays, symbolising our shared commitment to excellence. This partnership has been mutually beneficial, with Hogans Family Jewellers selling thousands of Adina timepieces. A true testament to the trust and loyalty we have cultivated together.
Reflecting on this partnership, I am reminded of the importance of relationships built on shared values, trust and a commitment to quality. Our collaboration with Hogans Family Jewellers is more than a business arrangement. It is a family legacy that continues to thrive, contributing to the rich tapestry of Toowoomba’s community.
As we look to the future, Adina remains dedicated to supporting Hogan’s and other family-owned businesses across Australia. Together, we will continue to create and celebrate moments that stand the test of time, just like the watches we craft and the relationships we cherish.
In closing, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Hogan family—for their unwavering support, friendship, and shared vision. Here’s to many more years of success and collaboration, as we continue to make history together.
