The year 2000 was a landmark moment for Australia and for Adina. While the nation welcomed a new millennium and hosted the Sydney Olympic Games, we celebrated a milestone of our own with the release of our very first diamond-set watches: the WT16 and WT17.

Over the past 26 years, our diamond watch collection has evolved significantly. Since those pioneering models, we have introduced more than a dozen diamond-set timepieces, each reflecting our commitment to craftsmanship, elegance and enduring Australian design. Looking back, one model stands out above the rest: the flat, rectangular 200217. Its refined proportions and timeless sophistication made it a favourite among our customers and our team alike. Yet, as watchmakers, we are always inspired to push further and create something even more exceptional.

Affectionately named after our founders’ granddaughters, Estella—meaning “bright star”—and Audrey, inspired by the timeless grace of a classic movie star, represent the next chapter in Adina’s diamond watch journey. Our DNA dictates that every watch we create must first and foremost be practical and reliable. Estella and Audrey deliver on this promise with cold-stamped stainless-steel cases, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass and dependable water resistance. Yet incorporating precious diamonds into a watch is far more complex than simply adding a little sparkle.

Behind every diamond-set Adina watch lies an extraordinary journey. The natural diamonds featured in these collections began forming deep beneath the Earth’s surface over a billion years ago under immense heat and pressure. Through geological processes spanning countless millennia, they eventually reached depths accessible to modern mining.

The rarity of these remarkable gemstones is difficult to comprehend. Approximately 200 kilograms of rock must be excavated to yield just 0.2 grams of diamonds, and only a small fraction of those stones possess the colour, clarity and quality required for fine watchmaking.

Diamonds are also the hardest naturally occurring material on Earth. Composed almost entirely of carbon, they are commonly thought of as colourless, yet subtle trace elements can influence their appearance, creating beautiful natural hues including yellow, blue and even the highly coveted pink diamond.

With the origins of these precious stones understood, attention turns to the art of creating a diamond-set watch.

For Estella and Audrey, our design brief was clear: develop a sophisticated flat-line round model alongside a refined rectangular watch inspired by the iconic elegance of the Cartier Tank. Every design begins with advanced CAD modelling, where the placement of each diamond is carefully considered from the earliest stages. Additional material must be engineered into the bezel to securely accommodate stones that have been individually selected and matched for colour, clarity and cut.

While carat weight often dominates discussions surrounding diamonds, watchmaking takes a different perspective. Rather than focusing on a single stone, the value lies in the harmonious combination of all diamonds used throughout the design, creating a balanced and luxurious visual statement.

Each collection is available in four stunning finishes. Alongside polished stainless steel, customers can choose from ion-plated yellow gold, rose gold, or sophisticated two-tone gold-and-steel variations. At the heart of every model beats the Swiss Made Ronda 762 fully jewelled two-hand movement, paired with a timeless Roman numeral dial.

Yet while these shared elements unite the collections, the similarities end there. Estella and Audrey each possess distinct personalities, offering two unique interpretations of luxury, elegance, and contemporary Australian watchmaking.
